Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Learn stand up paddling basics and safety from experienced SUP instructors at Campbellford SUP, located at 197 Queen Street in Campbellford. Then go for a complimentary practice paddle. Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) classes include one hour professional SUP instruction, and one hour free stand up paddling rental. Rentals -$15 for the first hour – daily, weekly rates. Group lessons $40 pp. Canoe and Kayak rentals are also available with a small sandy beach for supervised swimming.
Kayak Rentals from Ferris Provincial Park
Rent a Kayak and Explore the Trent River. This year Ferris is offering kayak rentals to allow visitors to get out on the water. $20 for a half day and $40 for a full day. An additional $30 deposit on paddles and life jackets is required. Pick up your gear and a key for the kayak a the Main Gate. Kayaks are stored down at the boat launch. Have fun and remember – Safety First – stay away from the Hydro Dam outlet up river from the boat launch
Trent Severn Waterway
Many lock stations offer tent camping for visitors or a launch location for a paddling excursion. The Trent Severn Waterway has concrete steps for access at the lower end of Hastings (Lock 18), the upper end of Healey Falls (Lock 16/17), the lower end of Healey Falls (Lock 15). Paddling docks have been installed at the upper and lower sides of Lock 13, the lower side of Lock 10 and the upper end of Percy Reach (Lock 8). There is a cleared hiking trail between Locks 8 and 9 called the ‘Centennial Trail’, where some passengers aboard boats will attempt to beat the vessel on foot to the next lock station.
