Nestled amongst the peaceful hills of Northumberland County, ninety minutes east of Toronto, 3km north of Campbellford, Westben’s primary performance venue is a custom-concert built, timber-frame barn. The Barn seats 400 and combines state-of-the-art acoustics with a rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere. On sunny days from June to August, massive walls and doors roll away allowing music to waft over the surrounding meadow. Imagine sunshine, smiles and fresh country breezes while listening to everything from Bach to Broadway favourites, opera, jazz and world music, to folk, fiddle and fun!
The dream at Westben is to connect with you through the wonderfully joyful experience of live music-making. The hope is that you will experience music as you never have before. Westben is not your typical theatre experience.
Much more than just a venue for performances, the surroundings at The Barn on the meadow are one-of-a-kind. Visit the Westben concessions for a selection of sandwiches, salads, ice cream, snacks, bottled water, coffee and non-alcoholic cold beverages. Or choose from an eclectic collection of interesting wines and craft beers at our newly built ‘Milk Shed’. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop for unique gifts and souvenirs.
Westben’s Community Events continue to develop year-round, outside of the Concerts at The Barn summer festival. House Concerts at The Clock hosted by Campbellford singer-songwriter Ken Tizzard along with a growing number of life-long learning programs including the First-Friday Lunchtime Tick Talks take place in February, March, April, May, September and October. Community musicals and Christmas programs, along with the Large Ensemble programs (Westben Festival, Youth & Teen Choruses, Wind Ensemble and Community band).
Come join us! Westben will change the way you experience music.
